The West End Family Link Center (WEFLC) is a community-based nonprofit founded in 1992, and one of the original family resource centers members of the Family Resource Center Association which has grown to 27 member-centers.
WEFLC is located in Nucla, Colorado, in the west end of Montrose County. We serve a frontier area of 2,069 square miles, which includes the west ends of Montrose and San Miguel Counties which are both physically and financially isolated from the eastern portion of both counties. From our office it is at least 90 minutes to a two-hour drive each way to hospitals, medical/dental specialists, shopping centers, airports, entertainment, Department of Motor Vehicle services, etc.
The population is approximately 1,900 with 25% are under the age of 18, and 20% over 65; approximately 60% of children receiving reduced to no cost lunch at school, with many of those vulnerable families receiving services through our programs.
West End Family Link Center’s mission is to empower the people of the west end of Montrose and San Miguel Counties by providing low-to-no-cost supportive services. These services include: referrals; education toward self-management; evidence-based programs (parenting and nutrition classes); emergency assistance services, such as heating assistance and food bank; and other resources when available.
To build stronger, healthier families and individuals in the West End of Montrose and San Miguel counties.

Bambi Scheetz, Assistant & Food Pantry Coordinator
Bambi recently moved to the area to be closer to family. She attended Centralia Community College and has a degree in Forest Technology. She served our country as a Munition System Specialist in the United States Air Force and has brought a drive and organization to this position.
She has fantastic interpersonal skills, is empathetic with clients, has been trained in Exploring Foods Together, administering Energy Outreach Colorado, organization and maintenance ofthe USDA Programs and food pantry, and use of the ETO data base system.Type your paragraph here.

Troy has lived and worked in the West End since 2000. He is currently enrolled at Grand Canyon University working on a degree in Sociology which he intends to complete by May 2018. He also attended International Baptist Collage where he majored in Secondary Education with endorsements in Art and History. He served our country as a Marine and has brought organization and determination to this position. He sees the job through to completion and is an asset to our organization.
He has been trained to teach Exploring Foods Together and Eating Smart Being Active classes, a certified Nurturing Parent facilitator, a certified user of Parents as Teachers, trained to administer the CFSA2, use of the ETO data base system and to administer Energy Outreach Colorado.Type your paragraph here.
Christina Pierce, Executive Director
Christina was a board member of WEFLC for over seven years and the Chairman for three of those years before being asked to step in as Executive Director (ED) to lead the organization. She also served as a Trustee for the Town of Nucla for five years. Her diverse experience and knowledge of WEFLC have strengthened the organization and provided guidance for the future.
She has been trained to administer and/or teach Bright by Three, Exploring Foods, Eating Smart Being Active, CATCH Early Childhood and Kids Club, Energy Outreach Colorado, is certified CATCH Trainer for both Early Childhood and Kids Club, is certified in Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening and Support, and is a certified Nurturing Parent facilitator. Peggy Case, Bookkeeper
Peggy was a participant in our programs before becoming a board member. She served on the board for five years and served as Chairman for three of those years before accepting the position as bookkeeper in 2012. She administered the Nucla Naturita Food Bank before it merged with the West End Family Link in 2013.
